A great idea, but not that easy to accomplish.  Once you start investigating online income opportunities, you will be quite overwhelmed.

There are genuine opportunities and for every one of those, there are thousands of scams - and unfortunately most of the time, you don't realise you have signed up in a scam business until you have spent a fair amount of money!

There are numerous MLM (multi level marketing) type businesses that allow you the opportunity to market the products online as well as selling person to person.  Products range from vitamins and supplements, diet products, skin care, makeup, travel, health insurance...... the list goes on. In most cases you usually have to spend a certain amount of money yourself, to qualify for bonuses, group volumes, etc.  If this is the direction you decide to go - spend time reviewing the compensation plan and read the small print !

The two nutritional companies I am involved with are MLM but they are very different in the way they operate.  I enjoy using products from both - and I only purchase what I use so that I don't end up with a garage full of unwanted items.  I enjoy being able to relate my own experiences with the products that I use.

What ever you decide to get involved with - do your due diligence, speak to people who are involved in the opportunity, participate in the company forums - you will find out a great deal by doing just this.

Another way to generate an income is to sign up as an affiliate for multiple companies where receive your own website link with identifying code, and you can advertise this across the internet and of course off line as well using cards, flyers, etc.  This takes away the need for you to develop your own website as this is already done for you.  Many online businesses offer some form of affiliate membership, paying differing commission amounts depending on your sales.   There are a number of affiliate marketing sites including Clickbank, Linkshare, Performics - you will find many different companies listed with affiliate organisations so you can choose which ones you wish to promote.

Marketing, Promoting & Generating Traffic to your websites 

Generating targeted traffic to your website is vitally important.  Without visitors to your site, you have no chance of sales.  There are numerous ways to generate this traffic from sites that offer guaranteed visitors, traffic exchanges, reciprocal web linking, pay per click advertising, etc.

Traffic Exchanges, Safelists & Classified Ad sites are popular places to advertise opportunities and websites - you do need to spend time yourself viewing other member websites.  My recommendation is to use a landing page with just enough information to encourage a reader to either submit their email information or get them to click through to your website.  Pages are usually shown for 20-30 seconds and you need to capture the attention in that time.  Although you can bookmark pages to view later, getting the attention initially is often more successful.

Important:  Sign up for a secondary email address (yahoo, google) - Once your email address is available online, you will find yourself receiving tons of spam and junk mail.  Rather than having this go to your personal account, there are many free services available that have enough capacity to take care of this extra mail.

Sending Cards

There are numerous pay to read programs, many are free to join but also offer upgrades with additional benefits. In my opinion, the most successful of these is Bux.to

I have been paid a number of times, my most recent payment of $300 was on 4th April 2008 (requested 10th January 2008).  My recommendation for Bux would be to upgrade to a premium member and also to purchase some of the unreferred member packages.  Although it does take a few months for payments to be processed, Bux has recently introduced their own payment card through Payoneer and this should speed up the payment process. The payment method in below says Paypal, but the funds were sent to my Bux card, as they no longer use Paypal.

If you are prepared to spend $35 per month purchasing a pack of 35 referrals - you will soon start enjoying success with a very easy business.  Don't forget to click the ads yourself.
